Mountain Home Beauty Salon, 1947-48.  Standing: Velga Vanzandt and Ruby Jones.  The lady under the hair dryer is Mrs. Evans (who owned the Evans Theater). 1961-62 Boy Scout Troop.  Can you tell who these guys are?  A full caption will be posted in the January-March 2011 quarterly.  Watch for it! Before there ever was a Lake Norfork.  That's the Henderson Bridge, which is now under water. The Old America Parade entry at the first Baxter County Fair, held at the Fairgrounds in Buford in 1911. The Young America entry for the Buford Fair parade, 1911.  The girls were dressed in white, with red and blue sashes.  The wheel spokes were covered with red, white and blue streamers.  Very patriotic!

Back in the day, it was called The Peoples Bank (now First Security Bank on Ninth Street in Mtn. Home). The Willow Court on Hwy. 62 East (where Town East Centre is now). Pilgrim’s Rest School (Monkey Run School) about 1916, located about ¾ of a mile west of the Four Sisters Store.  Family names are: Carson, Dilbeck, Fisk, Hodges, Lackey, Marler, Martin, Megee, Messick, Powell, Sinor, Stafford, Trimble, White.  The teacher, Miss Arkie Owens, is at the right.
